So, today we are going to discuss 2 topics. First of all, let's discuss what is an internet.
What is internet?
- Internet is a globally connected network that sends data to any type of media. It allows us to communicate with other people in many ways.
- For example, internet allows us to communicate with our loved ones when we are not around or we are studying overseas. Such as Skype, Skype allows us to see our family through a laptop. This can be convenient because we can be able to see the person we miss.
How does internet works?
Since internet is a global network, it has its own unique IP address. The IP address is normally created by nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn which are form from 0-255.
There are many ways that the internet operates. The followings are some of the examples.
- IP Address
- Domain Names
- IPS
IP address stands for Internet Protocol.
- Internet uses IP address where it can send data to another device in order for us communicate freely. We can also connect internet through an Internet Service Provider (ISP) which gives us a temporary IP address.
What is Domain Names?
- Domain Names are the names that all websites have. For example 'www.Google.com'. The reason why website has a domain name is that instead of memorizing a very long IP Address, domain names are more likely to be memorized.
What is IPS?
- IPS is known as Intrusion Prevention System. This system is created to notice any threats that are happening on the computer and try to stop it from harming the computer.

What is WWW?
WWW
is known as World Wide Web. It is often mistaken as Internet.
What's the difference between WWW and internet?
- Internet- Allows two or more device to connect and communicate with each other.
- WWW- World Wide Web is the website that all website can connect from the hyperlink.
World Wide Web is created by Hypertext Mark-up
Language (HTML) and we can access the internet by connecting to the Hypertext
Transfer Protocol (HTTP). World Wide Web contains all of the information which we
need when we are doing research on the internet.
Nowadays Dial-up, DSL, broadband, and Wi-Fi are the most common internet connection that we are using in order to communicate with other people.
So, here are the steps to set up an DSL internet connection in your house if you are interested!😊
Step 1:
Connect modem's cable to the computer and wait for it to respond.
Step 2:
Click on the DSL icon to enter your username, password and number.
Step 3:
Then click on the 'Connect' button and wait for the confirmation.
Step 4:
If you cannot connect to the internet, click the 'Retry' button
